Organizations in Asia Pacific will continue to adjust their hybrid policies to favor in-person attendance as the office sector regains its central role in commercial real estate. Asia Pacific offices have the lowest average fit-out costs for offices at $1,460 per square meter ($135.66 per square foot) compared to the global average of $1,830 per square meter ($170 per square foot) and the highest costing region, North America, at $3,070 per square meter ($285.29 per square foot), according to JLL’s recent Global Office Fit-Out Costs Guide 2025.
JLL analysis forecasts that countries in Asia Pacific have the highest proportion of organizations planning to increase fit-out investment. In Asia Pacific, countries such as India and Australia have a greater proportion of organizations planning to increase investment in space design and fit-outs in the next five years (74 percent and 72 percent respectively), significantly higher than the global average of 59 percent.
