Auto industry joins list of infrastructure groups writing letters to Congress

by Kali Persall

The automotive industry has joined a list of groups within the infrastructure industry that have asked Congress to consider them in an economic stimulus package.

The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, the National Automobile Dealers Association and the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association are the latest to join this charge, asking congressional officials to enact a series of policies that would provide immediate relief to the overall economy, including the automotive industry.

“As the heads of the major trade associations and organizations representing automobile manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers, we write to express our continued strong support for immediate action by Congress and the administration to confront the economic slowdown being caused by COVID-19,” stated the groups in a letter to officials.
