The Australian Government has launched a fund that will provide businesses with grants for pilot projects or pre-commercial projects aimed at reducing emissions.
The Carbon Capture, Use and Storage Development Fund will provide grants ranging from A$500,000 ($391,260) to A$25 million ($19.56 million) for projects located in Australia.
The program aims to reduce emissions across energy generation, natural gas or hydrogen production and heavy industries and foster existing, pilot or pre-commercial carbon capture, utilization and storage facilities that could connect into a regional hub in the future and bring together a network of multiple greenhouse gas emitters; and support new opportunities to use carbon dioxide in the development of carbon dioxide–derived products and services, among other goals.
In order to be eligible, projects must be completed by June 30, 2025.
