Austin, Boston and Dallas rank as the top three U.S. cities for planned investment in 2021, according to AFIRE’s annual international investor survey. This is the first time a tertiary city has ever topped the survey.
Primary cities such as New York (21 percent) and Los Angeles (19 percent) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, for planned investments. San Francisco (17 percent) placed eighth and Washington, D.C., placed 11th.
The survey contains responses from more than 100 leading investors and institutions.
Three in four intend to boost their U.S. real estate investments in the next three to five years. U.S. investment allocation by non-U.S.-based investors will increase 71 percent over that period, and 79 percent expected of U.S. investors.
