Astarte Capital Partners, a specialist co-investment platform focusing on real assets opportunities that are toward the value-add area rather than core infrastructure, has held a $70 million first close for Astarte Special Opportunities Platform (ASOP). The firm did not comment on its fundraising efforts.
Committed capital was sourced from institutional investors around the world. The firm is targeting a second or final close by the end of the year.
Astarte Capital Partners aims to grow its overall platform to around $2 billion within the next few years. The fund represents the discretionary capital pool of the overall platform.
Astarte Capital Partners invests in natural resources, transportation and thematic types of real estate. Its approach is to invest in partnership with established asset operators or specialist industry teams. Together, they structure investment portfolios in the form of managed closed-end funds or co-investment vehicles.
