Asia Pacific investors were the main source of capital for non-listed real estate globally in 2022, according to the ANREV Capital Raising Survey 2023.

Despite market uncertainty, 2022 was a year punctuated by strong capital raising activity. In 2022, investment managers surveyed raised a minimum of $264 billion (747 vehicles) of new capital for investment into the non-listed real estate market. Although this number was down 8 percent year-on-year, 83 percent of investment managers indicated they raised capital in 2022, reaffirming demand for the real estate asset class.

The 2022 survey attracted the participation of 116 fund managers from 21 countries across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. According to the report, investors from Asia Pacific topped the charts, with $54.8 billion coming from this investor pool. This represented an increase of 6 percent compared with 2021. In addition, the Asia Pacific region attracted $34 billion of new capital.
