Asia Pacific investors driven to diversify with real estate allocations in 2019

Despite heightened concern about economic uncertainties and political instability, the majority of investors in Asia Pacific retain positive investment appetite toward commercial real estate. According to CBRE’s 2019 Investor Intentions Survey released March 20, 81 percent of surveyed investors intend to maintain or exceed their purchasing momentum from the previous year.

Across the region, liquidity will continue to seek commercial real estate opportunities in Asia Pacific as stability is sought. Significantly, China will emerge as the most appealing destination for non-domestic investors, a reflection of investors’ positive long-term outlook of this key market.

Surveyed investors stressed the primary motivation behind their real estate purchases in 2019 will be its relative stability to other asset classes and a desire for increased asset diversification.
