The Arkansas Teachers’ Retirement System (ARTRS) has committed $50 million to Macquarie GIG Energy & Climate Opportunities Fund and $50 million to KKR Global Infrastructure Investors V, confirmed Rod Graves, deputy director at ARTRS.
The Macquarie GIG Energy & Climate Opportunities Fund is an open-end fund that is managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets and invests in large-scale, mature sustainable technologies to support the transition to net zero and help meet sustainable energy needs in Australia and overseas.
KKR Global Infrastructure Investors V is managed by KKR and is seeking to raise $20 billion to invest in infrastructure assets such as oil and gas pipelines and renewable-energy projects.
ARTRS had committed $50 million to KKR Global Infrastructure Investors II back in 2014 and $50 million to Macquarie Infrastructure Partners V in 2020.
