Arkansas Teacher Retirement System commits $50m to Macquarie’s fifth core infra fund

by Kali Persall

Arkansas Teacher Retirement System (ARTRS) has committed up to $50 million to Macquarie Infrastructure Partners V, a core infrastructure fund managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA).

The fund began marketing in January and has a $5 billion fundraising target, the same size as the fund’s predecessor, Macquarie Infrastructure Partners IV. Like the others in the fund series, Fund V will focus on a diversified range of infrastructure assets, primarily in North America.

Other investors in Fund V include the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund and the North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System.

As of June 30, 2019, ARTRS had a 12 percent target allocation to real assets, against a long-term target of 15 percent.
