ArcLight Capital Partners takes majority interest in one of North America’s largest natural gas assets

ArcLight Capital Partners has acquired a 25 percent interest in Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America (NGPL). Financial terms were not disclosed.

This makes it the largest owner of NGPL with a 62.5 percent economic ownership interest, alongside its strategic partner Kinder Morgan, which continues to own a 37.5 percent economic interest in NGPL and operates the company.

NGPL, a strategic natural gas infrastructure system, is one of the largest interstate pipeline systems in the United States. Operating in nine states, NGPL supplies critical power and heating to markets across its footprint and liquefied natural gas facilities in Texas and Louisiana. With approximately 9,100 miles of pipeline, compressor stations totaling around 1 million horsepower and 288 billion cubic feet of storage, NGPL provides critical energy, access, reliability and supply from all major U.S. natural gas basins.
