ArcLight Capital Partners closes renewable infrastructure fund

by Kali Persall

ArcLight Capital Partners has closed its first continuation fund, ArcLight Renewable Infrastructure Fund, and acquired a 25 percent interest in the 192-megawatt Sidney Murray Hydroelectric Project from ArcLight Energy Partners Fund V.

Sidney Murray is a baseload renewable energy resource that sells power under long-term contracts to investment-grade counterparties. Fund V originally acquired an interest in the company in 2011 and aggregated a larger position through a series of subsequent acquisitions. The remainder of Sidney Murray is owned by affiliates of Brookfield.

ArcLight has invested more than $4 billion in 16 renewable infrastructure platforms since its inception in 2001.

Fund V is anchored by affiliates of GCM Grosvenor and HarbourVest and includes continued investment from certain existing limited partners.
