Aquila enters data center market with Norway investment

Aquila Capital is making its foray into the data center market with an investment in a shovel-ready colocation center in Norway. The sustainable data center will be powered exclusively by renewable energy sources.

Located close to Oslo, the data center will offer up to 10 megawatts of IT capacity upon completion, with a focus on high performance computing applications such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and graphic calculations. Construction of the facility will begin this year and is expected to wrap up by the end of 2021.

The investment is part of the long-term strategy of Aquila Capital’s new data center business segment, which will operate under the brand name AQ Compute.
