APG-QIC consortium reaches financial close on 36% stake in Brussels Airport

A consortium jointly led by APG and QIC , which also includes Swiss Life Asset Managers and PMV, has reached financial close on a 36 percent stake in Brussels Airport from funds managed by Macquarie.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Brussels Airport — Belgium’s largest airport — is a free-hold perpetual airport located in the political capital of Europe, host to the EU and NATO headquarters. According to Swiss Life Asset Managers, it is a strong performing gateway airport, supported by a transparent and stable regulatory regime.

The consortium originally announced the transaction in March, which grants both APG and QIC a 16.8 percent stake in the airport. The consortium acquired the asset through QIC’s Global Infrastructure Fund.

The transaction has now been finalized, having received all necessary regulatory approvals from the Belgian
