APG Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) are backing the Trans Java Toll Road sections of Kanci-Pejagan and Pejagan-Pemalang in Indonesia.
The two toll-road sections are instrumental in boosting regional connectivity and fostering economic growth, and they are proven to reduce travel times between major urban centers and increase access to key industrial hubs and ports, according to INA. This transaction is a follow-on investment for INA from the prior transaction with PT Waskita Transjawa Toll Road and PT Waskita Toll Road, the subsidiaries of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk.
These sections also have seen a surge in the traffic growth, with daily vehicle numbers growing from 13,202 in 2016 to 22,206 in 2021, representing an increase of more than 1.5 times.
