Ancala Partners has exceeded its fundraising target for its second infrastructure fund, Ancala Infrastructure Fund II, with a total of €735 million ($812 million) in commitments, according to several media sources.
The London-based investment manager was originally aiming to raise €600 million ($662 million) for the fund, which will invest in a portfolio of small to mid-sized core infrastructure businesses across Europe. The fund followed the investment strategy of its predecessor, investing in core, small to mid-market infrastructure assets.
Ancala Infrastructure Fund II increased in size by more than €600 million ($662 million) in under two years, according to previous coverage by IREI. In July 2018, the fund held a first close with €133 million ($146 million) in commitments.
