Ameresco, an energy solutions provider dedicated to helping customers navigate the energy transition, confirmed its Irish subsidiary, Cork Sustainable Energy Ltd. (CSEL), has secured approval for a significant upgrade to the Kilvinane Wind Farm.
CSEL manages the Kilvinane Wind Farm, which is located 8 kilometers (5 miles) east of Dunmanway, County Cork. The wind farm is capable of producing approximately 8,500 megawatt-hours of energy annually, supplying to the national grid and contributing to Ireland's renewable-energy targets as the second-largest producer of wind energy (in terms of the share of electricity provided by wind energy) in the world.
An Bord Pleanála, Ireland's national independent planning body that decides appeals on planning decisions, approved the wind farm upgrade, which will ensure the efficient operation of the wind farm.
