Allianz acquires first renewable energy installations in Poland

by Kali Persall

Allianz Capital Partners has acquired its first renewable energy installations in Poland from project developer and independent power producer ENERTRAG, bringing the company’s portfolio of solar and wind parks to more than 100.

The installations consist of nine sites split into two projects, known as Dargikowo and Karlino, which are scheduled to start commissioning in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Both projects are located in northwest Poland and have production capacities of 133 megawatts for Dargikowo and 53 megawatts for Karlino.

Under the terms of the deal, ENERTRAG will construct the portfolio, including its 250-megawatt grid infrastructure, on behalf of Allianz and will provide long-term operational services.

Christian Fingerle, CIO at Allianz said the new wind parks will make an important contribution to increase the share of renewable energy in Poland and help to reach Allianz´s goal of a carbon-neutral portfolio by 2050.
