Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology arm of Alibaba Group, is expanding its footprint in Asia with the construction of its first data center in the Philippines. The facility is expected to be built by the end of this year.
Alibaba said the new data center will extend the reach of its offerings in the Philippines, ranging from elastic compute, database, security and network services to machine learning and data analytics capabilities. It will help local businesses across sectors such as fintech, ecommerce, education and media to adopt and implement cloud technologies more efficiently and better position themselves to capture the emerging opportunities in the country.
