Alcazar Energy Partners pledges to more than double its investment in Montenegro to €500m

Alcazar Energy Partners has signed a new memorandum of understanding with the Government of Montenegro, reflecting the firm’s confidence in the region’s investment climate and Alcazar Energy’s commitment to its renewable-energy future.

Daniel Calderon, co-founder and managing partner at Alcazar Energy, announced on LinkedIn the firm has plans to more than double its total foreign direct investment, increasing from €200 million ($232 million) for the 119-megawatt Bijela Wind Farm to €500 million ($581 million) by 2030.

The Bijela Wind Farm, now under development, is due to become Montenegro’s largest wind farm. The asset is in line with the government’s 2040 draft National Development Strategy and National Land Use Plan, directly supporting Montenegro’s strategic aim to increase its renewable-energy capacity and generation, according to a brochure for the project on Alcazar Energy’s website.
