Albion Capital refinances renewable portfolio

by Kali Persall

Albion Capital has refinanced a £105 million ($131 million) renewable portfolio of onshore wind, hydro, solar and battery projects, raising £57 million ($71 million) in debt.

According to Solar Power Portal, the refinancing came from funds managed by Aberdeen Standard Investments.

“Albion Community Power introduced institutional investors to the Albion brand for the first time, and we are pleased to have delivered such a good result for our shareholders,” said David Gudgin, partner at Albion Capital. “Moving forward, the ACP fund continues to invest in renewable energy assets and we are keen to add further institutional investors targeting long term, uncorrelated, RPI-linked cash flows alongside our existing LPs.”

Albion Capital has raised and deployed more than £250 million ($313 million) in the U.K. renewables sector over the last 10 years, Solar Power Portal reports.
