Ancala Partners has bought a 45 percent stake in the Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).
The investment fund acquired a 35 percent stake in the airport from Peel Group and another 10 percent from Liverpool City Council. The pair will retain 45 percent and 10 percent interests, respectively.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The company said it “believes LJLA is ideally placed to serve the regional economy and has outstanding potential for growth through attracting further capacity from new and existing carriers and building on its non-aeronautical services offering including commercial, retail and car parking.”
LJLA served more than 5 million passengers last year and is the United Kingdom’s 12th busiest airport.
