The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has plans to finance $10 billion to $12 billion in infrastructure projects annually over the coming years, according to Reuters.
The Beijing-based bank plans to maintain a prudent approach in investing in such deals, the bank’s vice president of policy and strategy said.
In early June, the AIIB invested $90 million in a 216-megawatt Nepal hydropower plant project. It plans to finance around $4 billion in projects, a 20 percent increase from the $3.3 billion it invested in 2018.
Since its 2016 launch, the bank has financed around $8 billion in projects, primarily in Asia.
