Adam Bernstein joins North Sky Capital

by Drew Campbell

Adam Bernstein has joined North Sky Capital as a managing director. Bernstein comes from New Energy Capital, where he was a managing partner focused on electricity, renewable fuels and other infrastructure sectors. Bernstein also served as a member of NEC’s investment committee for North Sky’s Alliance Funds, which have committed nearly $500 million to 27 clean energy infrastructure investments in North America since 2010. NEC is a subadvisor to North Sky Capital’s Alliance Funds, and Bernstein will remain a senior adviser to NEC.

“We have been working with Adam for nearly a decade,” says Scott Barrington, CEO of North Sky. “He brings tremendous clean energy investment knowledge and experience, which will benefit our existing infrastructure investors and support the firm’s growth plans.”

In addition to the Alliance Funds, North Sky currently manages the Clean Growth Funds, which make secondary investments in impact opportunities globally. North Sky has raised seven impact investing funds to date and is a recognized thought leader in the space.

“Having worked closely with us for nearly a decade, Adam understands our commitment to producing attractive financial returns for our investors, while also delivering measurable environmental and social impact,” says Danny Zouber, managing director with North Sky.
