Actis consortium acquires telecom tower portfolio in the Balkans

A consortium led by Actis has acquired a newly carved-out telecom tower portfolio in the Western Balkans from Telekom Srbija, a telecommunications operator in the CEE region. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Actis said the carve-out includes substantially all of Telekom Srbija’s macro tower portfolio across Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. The portfolio is composed of approximately 1,800 macro towers and is positioned for further commercialization and expansion.

As part of the transaction, an independent tower company has been established, fully controlled by Actis, which has entered into a long-term master services agreement (MSA) with Telekom Srbija as the tower company’s anchor tenant.

This marks Actis’s first transaction in the Western Balkans and the firm’s eighth investment in the digital infrastructure space, with more than $1 billion currently committed in the sector. It is intended to be its cornerstone platform investment for
