by Kali Persall

Actis has acquired two solar projects in India on behalf of its Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund (ALLIF). The seller was Acme Solar Holdings, one of the largest independent solar power producers in India.

Totaling 400 megawatts, the projects are located in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Actis said the investment strategy of ALLIF is to target large, operating renewable assets for a long-term hold, maximizing yield through value creation. The firm’s recent investments through its energy funds include Ostro Energy, which was sold in 2018 in one of the largest renewable energy deals in India, and Sprng Energy, which currently has 648 megawatts of operating assets and a pipeline of 1100 megawatts in various stages of execution.

“India is one of the fastest-growing solar markets in the world, and the government’s commitment to increasing renewable energy production continues to create attractive investment opportunities for our ALLIF
