Aberdeen Standard Investments selects new global head of private markets

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has appointed Mark Redman to global head of private markets. He will succeed Peter McKellar, who will retire from ASI at the end of September after nearly 20 years with the business.

Redman who previously served as global head of private equity at OMERS, one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, will join ASI in October .

“As investors increase their exposure to private markets to meet their financial objectives, we are in prime position to provide single- and multi-strategy solutions,” said Redman. “I’m looking forward to working with the team and the broader business to continue to grow the franchise and deliver for its global client base.”

ASI’s private markets franchise has £55.1 billion ($71 billion) in assets under management.
