Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has purchased Tramlink Nottingham, which operates the tramway network of the city of Nottingham, U.K., from InfraVia, a private-equity firm specializing in the infrastructure sector.
A purchase price was not disclosed.
According to InfraVia, Tramlink Nottingham serves all densely populated areas of the city and major destinations, such as the University of Nottingham. Tramlink Nottingham took over the existing network in 2011 and constructed a 16.9-kilometer (10.5-mile) extension under a long-term DBFM contract.
ASI, a brand of Scotland-based Standard Life Aberdeen, manages £519.4 billion ($649 billion) of assets worldwide and has £4 billion ($4.9 billion) of assets under management within the infrastructure space. It has invested in more than 120 infrastructure projects in Europe, North America and Australia across transport, healthcare, education, accommodation, and water.
