Aberdeen raises $268m for U.S private equity fund

Aberdeen Asset Management, a global asset manager, has raised $268 million for its seventh U.S. private equity fund, Aberdeen U.S. Private Equity VII, according to a filing with the SEC. The firm did not comment on its fundraising effort.

The fund is seeking to raise $300 million, according to the filing.

Aberdeen manages investments across the full spectrum of asset classes and geographic markets, including equities, fixed income, property and alternative assets. The firm “believes the private equity market continues to be attractive for investors and over the longer term, though not guaranteed, believes it is likely to maintain its outperformance over more traditional asset classes.”
