Aberdeen, Arjun Infrastructure Partners increase stake in Spanish fiber network operator Onivia

Arjun Infrastructure Partners and Aberdeen Investments have increased their shareholding in portfolio company Onivia. The two firms now hold 40 percent each in Onivia, while Macquarie Capital remains invested with a 20 percent holding. All three firms will continue to co-control Onivia.

Onivia was established in 2019 as Spain’s first independent fiber network operator following Macquarie and Aberdeen’s acquisition of a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network with 1 million homes from MasMovil. Onivia has since expanded nationwide, doubling in size with the acquisition of a majority stake in a rural FTTH network, which enables it to deliver reliable broadband to both urban and nonurban communities.
