77.5% of investors expect to increase their allocation to Asia Pacific real estate in 2020

Institutional investors have signalled a greater appetite for risk in the year ahead, according to the global Investment Intentions Survey 2020, published by ANREV, INREV and PREA.

In line with last year, value-added investment in Asia Pacific continued to be seen by institutional investors globally as offering the best risk-adjusted performance prospects in the region (44.3 percent, same as the previous year). Furthermore, this year’s study shows increased interest for opportunistic style in Asia Pacific, with 21.3 percent of global investors naming it their preferred investment style compared with 18.0 percent in 2019. Core remains the preferred style for Asia Pacific investors in the region (47.8 percent), whereas 43.8 percent of North American investors prefer opportunistic and 50 percent of Europeans prefer value-added.
