In its new 5G readiness report, Nokia has predicted that 5G will transform global economies, delivering $8 trillion to businesses, economies and societies around the world by 2030.
Nokia posits that 5G is more than an evolutionary development from 4G — it is a transformational development that will enable a hoard of disruptive technologies to reach maturity. It will enable the emergence and convergence of AI, blockchain AR and VR, as well as turn the concepts of smart cities, autonomous vehicles, virtual learning and remote healthcare and into realities.
“5G provides the bricks that everything else is built on,” said Sally Eaves, tech influencer and global strategic advisor. “Without it we can’t talk seriously about technologies like AI or edge computing.”
