A concession for the €220 million ($267 million) A59 motorway project has been transferred from the Poort van den Bosch consortium to the province of North Brabant in the Netherlands, InfraPPP reports.
The 9-kilometer (5.6-mile) motorway, which runs between Rosmalen and Geffen, was the first road project in the Netherlands to be procured as a public-private partnership (P3) project.
The Poort van den Bosch consortium includes BAM PPP, Boskalis and Fluor Infrastructure. In 2003, the consortium was selected to provide design, financing, construction and maintenance of the road.
Rijkswaterstaat, part of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, will now be responsible for the management and maintenance of the project.
