10% decrease in number of investors planning to invest more in infrastructure

by Released

There was 10 percent decrease in investors planning to invest more in infrastructure, compared to 2016, according to the third global report, 2019 Global Infrastructure Investor Survey, by Global Infrastructure Hub (GI Hub) and EDHEC Infrastructure Institute-Singapore (EDHECinfra).

“Infrastructure is a dynamic market, and the results can be used to help policy leaders around the world better understand the changing perceptions of investors in infrastructure. Importantly, the report highlights the significant growth in importance of ESG factors in the investment decision process,” said Marie Lam-Frendo, GI Hub CEO.

Approximately 45 percent of respondents already invest in emerging markets. The top emerging markets are India, China, Brazil, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The United States remains a market with immense potential for private infrastructure investment despite the apparent lack of progress with public-policy announcements.
