Institutional Real Estate, Inc. is excited to announce our 2022 IREI : LIVE series. A virtual webinar series focusing on the most significant issues the industry is facing in today's climate. IREI : LIVE will be produced four times in 2022, beginning in March.

IREI : LIVE’s panels will feature a mix of GPs, LPs and consultants with a combination of four to six spread out over two to three panels per event. The live panels will be tailored to topics that are pertinent to each individual firm’s expertise and knowledge.

David Dix has more than 20 years’ experience in real estate investment and management. He joined TTG in 2018 from CBRE Capital Advisors, where he advised global clients on indirect real estate investment strategies. Prior to CBRE, Dix was a principal with a Japanese fund manager and with Macquarie Bank. He has been directly involved in the strategy development, capital raising and management of more than $3 billion of real estate funds and provided strategy and investment advice to leading institutional real estate investors on three continents. Dix holds a master’s in land economy from Cambridge University and a bachelor’s in agricultural economics from Sydney University.

Stanislav Kubáček

At Heimstaden, Stan Kubáček heads the Central European investments division as managing director. He is responsible for sourcing and execution of residential investments. Previously, he worked at Round Hill Capital, handling residential investments in Europe. Prior to that role, he was an investment banker in Goldman Sachs’ European real estate team in London. Kubáček holds a master’s degree in finance and business strategy from Sciences Po University in Paris.

Caleb Mercer
Managing Director

Heitman

Caleb Mercer is a managing director, Head of European Investment and an equity owner at Heitman. He joined Heitman from Starwood Capital, where as Senior Vice President, European Acquisitions, he sourced European investment opportunities in multiple geographies and was responsible for pan-European corporate acquisitions. Prior to Starwood, Mercer worked at Heitman as Senior Vice President, Acquisitions. He began his career with Merrill Lynch and has also worked at AXA Investment Managers and JER Partners. Mercer has experience in most real estate asset classes and in direct, corporate and credit real estate investments. He has transacted across 15 European countries. He is a graduate of the University of Oxford.

Hans Nordby

As head of Lionstone’s Analytics and Research team, Hans Nordby is responsible for leading the firm’s proprietary analytics and data-driven research platform. He joined Lionstone in 2020, bringing more than 20 years of industry experience to the firm. Previously, he led the portfolio strategy division at CoStar Group and its predecessor Property & Portfolio Research, where he drove the development of analytic tools that harness the power of big data for use by the commercial real estate industry. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds an M.B.A. from Indiana University.

Nick Russell is the Head of Investor Account Management at Juniper Square, partnering with leading investors, managers and consultants in the commercial real estate industry to improve transparency and reduce the burden of reporting. Working for a technology firm that emphasizes building with its customers, Russell understands the importance of listening and continuing education to drive alignment within the industry and ensure that future solutions are actionable and scalable. He has extensive experience developing and harmonizing data models, integrating systems and facilitating efficient data transfer workflows, and creating standardized and ad hoc reporting solutions across various client segments.

Maria Surina
Investment Director

Real Assets Cambridge Associates

Maria Surina is a senior investment director, based in Boston, and a member of the Real Assets Investment Group. Surina is a real estate specialist and focuses on investment idea generation and due diligence primarily in North American real estate markets and across different structures, such as funds, co-investments and direct investments. In addition, Surina works with U.S. pensions and Middle Eastern families. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates in 2018, Surina had roles with Bain Capital Real Estate, DESCO Group and Altus Group. She has experience in portfolio management, direct real estate investment and asset management in the office sector.
