The Government of Canada has appointed Ehren Cory as CEO of the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB), following a recommendation by the CIB board of directors.
Cory will provide leadership and direction to the CIB as it implements its three-year C$10 billion ($7.5 billion) growth plan, which was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Oct.1. The plan is expected to scale up digital connectivity, strengthen Canadian agriculture, encourage the clean energy transition and help build a low-carbon economy.
Cory was the former president and CEO of Infrastructure Ontario, and will bring extensive experience working with the public and private sector on the financing, building and management of innovative and large-scale infrastructure projects to the role.
He was chosen following a recruitment process undertaken by the CIB that attracted diverse and highly qualified applicants.
