University of Michigan commits $44m to two funds

The $10 billion University of Michigan Endowment has committed $44.4 million to two funds, according to recent meeting documents.

The endowment fund committed $30 million to Kayne Anderson Energy Fund VII. The energy fund focuses on high-growth exploration and production, midstream, and mineral and royalty interest companies in North America. The fund, managed by Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, has received commitments from the New Hampshire Retirement System, the Denver Employees Retirement Plan and the Orange County (Calif.) Employees Retirement System.
