Two funds raise more than $1b each

Almanac Realty Investors announced it has held a $1.42 billion final close for its latest fund, Almanac Realty Securities VII, on June 1, exceeding its $1 billion equity fundraising target. Approximately $1.26 billion was raised for the main fund, plus an additional $160 million in equity commitments to sidecar co-investment vehicles.

The fund will seek private placements into private and public real estate companies to capitalize on the continued shift of real estate ownership to integrated entities. ARS VII succeeds six previous funds in the series, which have invested approximately $3.2 billion across 35 companies using the same investment strategy. Additionally, Almanac formed Almanac Realty Securities Canada I in 2014 with C$200 million ($tk million) of equity commitments.
