REIT manager search gets under way

by Zoë Wolff

Consultant Courtland Partners has issued a request for information on behalf of one of its institutional clients for a “$200 million mandate to manage a long-only portfolio of REITs.”

According to the RFI, the institutional investor has not yet determined whether to pursue an international or global strategy; therefore, Courtland Partners says managers are encouraged to prepare responses for each strategy.

The RFI says the investor will only consider long-only REIT strategies. The strategies would need to have commenced before the end of 2011 and have at least $200 million in assets under management.

Investment managers have until June 12 to respond.
