CBRE raises $261 million for Asia fund

CBRE Global Investors has raised approximately $261 million for CBRE Asia Value fund, formerly ING Real Estate Asia Value Fund, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The open-end commingled fund was launched in 2007. It employs a diversified value-add strategy and targets a diversified pool of assets throughout Asia, targeting China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

CBRE Global Investors declined to comment on the fundraising.

In 2011, CBRE Global Investors acquired substantially all of the ING Real Estate Investment Management operations in Europe and Asia from Netherlands-based ING Group, as well as Clarion Real Estate Securities, its U.S.-based global listed real estate securities business, for approximately $940 million.
