California-based pension commits $30m to real estate

The $714 million Imperial County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement System has committed $30 million to American Strategic Value Realty Fund. It is the pension fund’s first commitment to a fund managed by American Realty Advisors.

American Strategic Value Realty Fund, which launched in 2008, is a value-added, open-end real estate fund that will invest in office, retail, industrial, multifamily and other properties through a risk-controlled strategy that focuses on opportunities for added value at different stages of the investment cycle that are located in selected markets throughout the United States.
